The translation of “Aemestelle” is “next to the Amstel”. The farm is on a quiet piece of land by the Amstel, in a polder named “The Rondehoep”.
Its original name is “Mariahoeve” and has been a dairy farm for over a hundred years. In older times, cheese was also made here. Since forty years the farm has been run by the Nieuwendijk family. It’s still a dairy farm with aproximately fifty milch cows, forty calves and about twenty sheep. Our milk is used by Campina and is mostly used for cheese. However, you can still come to us for a glass of fresh, delicious milk!
Next to the dairy farm we also have a patio and a campingsite. You can enjoy the beautiful polder scenery and get a taste of the life on a farm by having a drink on our patio or book a vacation for a nostalgic campingtrip. Camping with us is how it was in the past: At a farm in a tent in front of the campfire. In the evenings you can play badminton or Jeu de Boules with your family or with our other guests. We also have completely decorated tents for the luxurious camper. We also have a authentically decorated camper for enthousiasts.
